Heating Boilers and Thermal Stores
Heating Boilers
In most cases replacing the heating boiler is only cost effective if there is an operational problem with the exisitng unit. If you are considering replacing the boiler then it should be replaced by a Class A condensing boiler, these are available as regular or “combi” boilers.
Thermal Stores
It is also worth considering installing a buffer tank.
A buffer tank is a highly efficient hot water storage vessel, it is larger than a normal hot water tank & the water is usually heated to a much higher temperature & can maintain the water at that high temperature with 97-98% efficiency. The boiler keeps the water in the buffer tank at the pre-set high temperature. As the heating system is switched on, the water is pumped to the radiators, and temperature is reached quicker than a regular system.
